The Baxter County Republican Committee met for its regular monthly meeting.
Chairman Chris Chamberlin called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.

Chairman’s Report: Chris Chamberlin announced that the Lincoln Day Dinner was a success.

Old Business
3 New members were voted in as new members of the BCRC.
Sid Williams reviewed the budget. A motion Was made to accept the budget as
presented. A second was made. The budget was approved as submitted.

New Business: A motion was made to limit meeting to 1 hour duration. A second was
made. There was discussion for & against. A standing vote was taken. The nays won.

Sandy Nelson discussed what she thought should be done with the Lincoln Day Dinner proceeds. She made a motion to split the proceeds. Discussion followed. The motion carried.
Information was presented that an improper vote had taken place relative to the 1 hour meeting vote. A re-vote was taken. The motion then carried.

Russ Gillis made a motion to reduce membership fees for mid-term BCRC applicants.
A second was made. Discussion followed. The motion carried.

Shaon Kaster reported that she recorded the last Dist. 1
meeting and made it available to who ever wanted to see it.
Chris Chamberlin announced the Dec. meeting in Little Rock.
Chairman’s Report: Chris Chamberlin gave an overview of the BCRC. He also discussed
the Electoral College issues.
Old Business
2 New members were voted in as new members of the BCRC.
New Business: New applicants to the BCRC were introduced.
There was discussion pertaining to donating funds to certain candidates.
A motion to donate money to certain candidates was made. The motion was seconded
& discussion followed. After discussion and amended motions, it was approved to give
$1000 to 2 city council candidates.
A motion to round up Bob Nault’s donation to $1500 was made & seconded. The motion
carried.
2 new members were added to the finance committee. There was also discussion
regarding creating a budget.
A motion was made to endorse 2 members who were running for city council.
Russ Gillis announced that there were still tickets available to the Lincoln Day Dinner.
Lincoln Day Dinner: Russ Gillis gave an update on the status of the Lincoln Day Dinner.

Chairman’s Report: Tony Chamberlain, filling in for Chris Chamberlin, Discussed the County Fair. Paul Cauthorn announced the straw poll results from the BCRC fair booth.

Lincoln Day Dinner: Russ Gillis gave an update on the status of the Lincoln Day Dinner.  The dinner will be held on Oct. 5th at the Lake Norfork Inn @6pm. He also announced that the Republican headquarters would also be at the Lake Norfork Inn in Henderson.

New Business: Russ Gillis discussed an opportunity to have a new BCRC sign put up in Gassville. A motion to purchase a new sign was made & seconded & the motion carried.

4 New members were voted in as new members of the BCRC.
New Business: Russ Gillis reminded us that the Lincoln Day Dinner was cancelled. Chris
Chamberlin announced that Al Beers Generously offered us the use of part of his resort at Lake Norfork Inn for some fundraising activities.
Russ Gillis offered a resolution regarding various RPA rules. Discussion followed
resulting in an amended resolution. The resolution was adopted after much discussion.

There was discussion regarding a Lincoln Day Dinner on Oct. 5th at the Norfork Inn.
Thanks was offered to Jay Sabella for his donation for our sign. Thanks also to Shane
Little for his work on the sign was offered.
Katherine Grace Discussed collecting signatures for getting the paper ballot issue on the November Ballot.
Chris Chamberlin announced that we have a booth at the fair & requested volunteers to man the booth. He also announced that Al Beers offered his resort to be used as our Republican Headquarters-No charge.

New Business: The issue of donating money to candidates was brought up Resulting in
$650 donations to JP candidates who had Democrat opposition & the returning back
filing fees to unopposed candidates.
The issue of donating money to John Thurston’s campaign came up also. Resulting in a
$1500 donation.
Open Discussion
Chris Chamberlin played a video concerning the behavior of Steve Lux. He also
discussed the upcoming State Convention.
Russ Gillis gave an explanation about some of the activities that will likely take place at
the State Convention.
Michele Linehan announced that the Lincoln Day Dinner would be October 5th, 2024 &
asked for volunteers to help with it.
Hap Myers discussed the FOIA petitions.
New billboard designs were submitted for viewing.

Ed Toscano made a motion to make a resolution honoring Rod Soubers. The resolution
was read aloud, It was seconded & passed.

New Business: Guest speaker, Scott Flippo, gave a talk on the past legislative session
which included multiple topics.
Tony Chamberlain Introduced Richard Caster, who spoke about his involvement with
The Murphy Institute.
Angela Lee spoke about the upcoming Millage vote & LCQ, (Legislative Questionnaire
Committee)

There was one new nomination-Michelle Dena
Sharon Kaster introduced a resolution to not recommend Asa Hutchison as a candidate
for President of the United States. A motion to accept was made & 2nd. The resolution
passed.

The Baxter County Republican Committee met for its regular monthly meeting.
Chairman Chris Chamberlin called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.

BCRC Treasurer Report: Sid Williams reported the bank balance was: $20,000.21
TLRW: Mary Glotzl announced the TLRW will be meeting at the Elks Club in Mountain
Home the 3rd Thursday of every month, 11:30 lunch, 12:00 noon meeting. All who are
interested, please come.
BCRM: Gary Smith announced they will meet at the Elks,1st Thurs. each month. Noon-1pm meeting. Come early if you will be eating.
Election Commission: Bill Andres announced that the Election Commissioners were
busy preparing for the upcoming election & are working on the upcoming Schoolboard
elections & are going thru training.

BCQC: Roger Steele- QC meets the 1st Tuesday of every month at the BC Courthouse.
Next meeting is 6 p.m. April 4, 2023. Everyone is invited to come. Roger announced the
upcoming agenda.

School board millage increase. Numerous question were taken. Bob Chester also took
the stage & helped field questions.
Tony Chamberlain Introduced Col. Conrad Reynolds, who spoke about voting machine
problems & election integrity. Questions were taken after the presentation.

Richard Caster was nominated & elected BCRC Committeeman for State
Sharon Kaster introduced a resolution for paper ballots. A motion to accept was made & 2nd. Followed by discussion to amend. After amendment was withdrawn, the resolution passed.

at the last meeting the Quorum Court Legislative committee that they voted to present
to the full court, an ordinance to prevent new & future landfills in Baxter County.
1st Congressional District: Dennis Chafa reported the 1st Congressional District next
meeting is coming up in March and he will try to get out the information as soon as he
gets it. Wants all to know that there will be opportunities for everyone to get on our
BCRC committees here in Baxter County. Please everyone step-up, get involved, and
help with the committees.
Communications Committee: Tony Chamberlain. The Web Page is up and running under
Baxtergop.com. Please check it out. Thanks to all who worked on getting this up and
running.
Audit Committee: Tony Chamberlain announced that the audit was completed by a
gentleman that has many years of experience in accounting and auditing, and that the
audit was submitted and approved.
Chris Chamberlin discussed making resolutions.
He also discussed starting a Young Republicans Chapter. Ben Luelf will lead the effort.
